Iberia

Iberia is the flag carrier of Spain and the largest Spanish-based airline. It is headquartered in Madrid and operates its main hub at Madrid-Barajas Airport. Iberia is a member of the Oneworld alliance and a wholly owned subsidiary of International Airlines Group (IAG), which also owns British Airways, Aer Lingus, Vueling, and LEVEL. IAG was formed in January 2011 through the merger of Iberia and British Airways; Iberia is now a subsidiary brand of IAG, which is correct as stated. The airline runs Club Iberia Plus, its frequent-flyer program, and Iberia Express, its short-haul subsidiary.

Iberia customer service policies

Under EU Regulation 261/2004, passengers facing cancellations, long delays, or denied boarding can choose between a refund for unused portions of the journey or rerouting at the earliest opportunity. Iberia also provides meals, refreshments, two free phone calls or emails, and, when an overnight stay is required, hotel accommodation plus transport between the airport and the hotel.

Iberia loyalty program

Iberia's loyalty program is Club Iberia Plus (rebranded from Iberia Plus on 1 April 2025). Members earn Avios on flights with Iberia, Iberia Express, and Oneworld partners, as well as on hotel stays, car rentals, and purchases with program partners. Avios can be redeemed for award flights, cabin upgrades, hotel and car-hire bookings, and merchandise. The program has seven tiers; Clásica, Plata (Silver), Oro (Gold), Platino (Platinum), Platino Prime, Infinita, and Infinita Prime. Higher tiers unlock benefits such as lounge access, priority check-in and boarding, extra baggage allowance, and bonus Avios earning.
