The Discover Card is a credit card, issued primarily in the United States. It was announced by Sears in 1985 and was introduced nationwide the following year. Most cards with the Discover brand are issued by Discover Bank, formerly the Greenwood Trust Company. Discover Card is the third largest credit card brand in the United States, with nearly 61 million cardholders.
