My family and I cruised on the fabulous & gorgeous MSC World America from: 6/7-6/21/25. Here’s a synopsis of our cruise: First and foremost, our cabin was changed without our knowledge from a Deluxe Balcony Cabin to an accessible cabin for guests with disabilities. We noticed the change immediately. The MSC customer service was contacted immediately hours prior to sailing. We were told to speak with guest services. Guest services were contacted: 6/7@ 4:10 pm, 5:12 pm and following up several days later. First response was: Show us your original reservation then they’ll be able to address the issue. The original reservation was presented via email: Original reservation email received 10/19/24 and we were told the situation will be addressed and we will be contacted. Second response: MSC understands the severity of the situation, however the ship is full and since we were on a back-to-back cruise they will reassess whether an adjustment can be made before the 2nd week. This was a retirement cruise for us, and we were very upset because the cabin was very small compared to what we paid for and visualized according to our confirmation with a picture that read: WELCOME TO YOUR CABIN!! The picture on the MSC App was misleading, we felt it was on purpose because the cabin number was not for a Deluxe Balcony Cabin that sleeps 4. We were planning on bringing our granddaughter as a surprise because she did so well in school. We are glad that we did not do that because she would not have anywhere to sleep. We watched this cabin for months on the MSC App in anticipation only to be moved to a smaller cabin. Also, our cabin was very noisy during our entire trip!! The rattling of a panel above the balcony was ridiculous!! I did my research regarding MSC switching passengers’ cabins without their knowledge and it appears that they are allowed to do this. My husband and I knew that nothing was going to be done because of the professionalism that was exhibited at our initial presentation of the issue to guest services and guest services staff thereafter. We both were retired managers for 45+ years as public servants. So, we wanted to try because it was a 15-day cruise. Second: Our main dining room was: LaFoglia. Several of our dishes were served cold, and our servers were terrific. However, we realized that MSC is accustomed to serving passengers an assortment of bread to each table. However, upon request, maybe make an adjustment if customers prefer one type of bread to be served at their table. This experience with MSC will be shared with family, friends and acquaintances. Everyone that traveled with us agreed, no more cruises on MSC because they cannot be trusted!!!!
