Is Delta Basic Economy gone, and what is "Delta Main Basic"?
Delta retired the “Basic Economy” label and folded that fare into a renamed Main Cabin called Delta Main, which now comes in three tiers: Main Basic, Main Classic, and Main Extra.
Main Basic is the same restrictive product as old Basic Economy — seat assigned at check-in, Zone 8 boarding, no SkyMiles or MQDs earned, cancellation only for a partial eCredit with a fee. The carry-on policy did not change: one full-size carry-on and one personal item are still allowed on most routes.
I bought a refundable Delta ticket. Why does the cancel page only show an eCredit?
A class-action lawsuit filed in early May 2026 alleges that Delta’s online cancellation flow pre-selects an eCredit on refundable tickets and hides the cash-refund option further down the page. If you bought a refundable fare, you are entitled to a refund to your original payment method — not a Delta-locked eCredit that expires in 12 months. Scroll past the default eCredit option on the cancellation page, choose refund to original form of payment, and confirm. If you’re forced into an eCredit anyway, call Refund Status at (800) 847-0578 or file a DOT complaint.
I'm stuck on a Delta plane on the tarmac. What are my rights?
Under U.S. Department of Transportation rules, Delta must offer you the chance to deplane after 3 hours on a domestic flight or 4 hours on an international flight, unless ATC or a documented safety reason makes that impossible. After 2 hours, Delta must provide food, water, working lavatories, and medical attention if needed. If those limits are missed, file a complaint with DOT’s Aviation Consumer Protection Division — not by attempting to open an aircraft door yourself, which is a federal crime carrying up to 20 years in prison. Keep your boarding pass, note the times door closed and door reopened, and document what the crew said.
Does Delta use AI to charge me a different price than someone else?
Delta confirmed in 2025 that it uses an AI pricing engine from Israeli vendor Fetcherr. Senators Gallego, Warner, and Blumenthal questioned the practice; Delta responded in writing that its AI “does not and will not use” personally identifiable information and that customers can shop and compare prices without signing in. In short: Delta says fares are not individualized to you, but are dynamically optimized for the market in real time. No federal rule currently prohibits personalized airline pricing, so the protection rests on Delta’s stated policy and FTC deceptive-practices oversight. Comparing fares from a private/incognito browser remains a reasonable precaution.
Delta damaged my wheelchair. What can I do?
Under the Air Carrier Access Act, Delta is required to return your mobility device in the condition it received it and, if damaged, to provide a comparable loaner and cover repair or replacement up to the device’s original purchase price. Before you leave the airport, ask for a Complaint Resolution Official (CRO) — Delta is required to have one available at every airport — and file a written claim on the spot. If you’ve already left, call Delta’s accessibility line at (404) 209-3434. You can choose your own preferred vendor for the repair. If Delta does not resolve it, file a complaint with the DOT (800) 778-4838; wheelchair-mishandling is a tracked, reportable category.
What happens if I show up to a Delta flight without a REAL ID?
This is a TSA rule, not a Delta rule, but it affects every Delta passenger flying within the U.S. Since May 7, 2025, adult travelers need a REAL ID-compliant license (look for the star), a U.S. passport, or another TSA-accepted ID. Starting Feb. 1, 2026, if you arrive without one, TSA will refer you to a new process called Confirm.ID: a non-refundable $45 fee for an identity check valid for 10 days, with no guarantee of approval and likely 30+ minutes of extra screening. Children under 18 are exempt when flying domestically with an adult. Delta cannot waive any of this. Arrive earlier, and if Confirm.ID fails, you will be denied the checkpoint.
Delta downgraded my seat from the class I paid for. Can I get a refund for the difference?

Request compensation through Delta customer service or your booking confirmation details.
How do I file a formal complaint with Delta Air Lines?

Why is my Delta SkyMiles refund taking so long to process?
SkyMiles refunds can be delayed due to processing times, fare rules, or payment system backlogs. Check your account activity and contact Delta SkyMiles support if the refund exceeds standard timelines.
Delta changed my flight schedule significantly. What are my rights?
If Delta makes a major schedule change, you may be eligible for a free rebooking or full refund.
Review your options in your booking or contact Delta to confirm re-accommodation or compensation eligibility.
How do I get reimbursed by Delta for expenses during a long delay or cancellation?
Keep receipts and submit a reimbursement claim through Delta’s customer care or travel disruption form. Eligible expenses may include meals, hotels, and transport during significant travel disruptions.
Can I dispute a Delta charge if I did not receive the service I paid for?
Yes, you can dispute the charge with Delta first and then through your credit card provider if unresolved. Provide booking proof and details of the service issue to support your claim.
