- You can change or cancel your reservation online.
- If you didn’t provide a credit or debit card to secure your rental, you can cancel anytime.
- For reservations guaranteed with a card, you can cancel up to one day before your reservation date.
- No cancellation fees if you cancel more than 24 hours before your pick-up time.
- If you cancel within 24 hours of pick-up or don’t pick up your rental, there’s a $50 fee.
- For Pay Now reservations, canceling more than 24 hours before pick-up incurs a $50 fee. Canceling within 24 hours or not picking up incurs a $100 fee.
- You can cancel optional insurance or CDW at the rental counter without a fee

Here’s how to get a refund from Alamo:
- When you rent a vehicle, you’ll need to secure payment with a credit card, debit card, or cash for the estimated rental cost.
- When you return the vehicle, Alamo will deduct the rental charges from the amount you paid upfront, and you’ll receive the difference.
- If you used a credit card to secure your rental but plan to pay in cash when you return the vehicle, Alamo will refund the difference to your credit card.
- If you paid with cash, you’ll get your refund either when you return the vehicle or by mail, depending on the location.
- If you used a debit card, your refund will be processed on the same day. It may take 5 to 10 business days for the refund to appear in your account, depending on your bank.
