Introducing the ebook that will make you a better traveler

January 20, 2012

Want to travel like an insider? Well, now you can.

Today I’m introducing the “beta” version of my new ebook series called The Travel Troubleshooter. Every book answers common questions about a topic, offers real examples of cases solved, and reveals the names and emails of executive contacts at companies. The first three are on car rentals, the TSA, and travel insurance.

Every week I’ll be adding a new ebook, so stay tuned — and please let me know which topics you want covered.

A very special thanks to my friends at AirportParkingReservations.com for sponsoring this site and newsletter. At AirportParkingReservations.com, you can select your airport and travel dates, compare nearby lots, view airport maps, and sort by price, parking type, star rating or company. But beyond that, you should know that AirportParkingReservations.com cares about great customer service, and that should be all the reason you need to give them your business.

You’ll want to check out my Mint.com story on how to force a company to stop cheating you when you’re a customer (it’s good stuff!). My pals over at SmartMoney also did a Q&A about my new book, and we had a lot of fun.

Also …

• He thought he could transit through London on his British Airways flight. He thought wrong. Find out how it ended, and what you can do to prevent a paperwork problem from ruining your next trip.

• This volunteer vacation ended on a bad note when he showed up for the wrong flight. Who’s responsible? And can this trip be saved?

• Are airlines playing a game of “chicken” with passengers? They sure are. But you can win. Here’s how some air travelers have done it.

And finally, if you’re in Orlando this week for the Educational Travel Conference, I hope you’ll stop by my media panel on Saturday morning to say “hello.” We’re going to have a great time. Thank you for your support, and safe travels!

Is this what your big announcement was about your big new project?

I’ve been wondering about that, too. It seems as if there was a lot of sound and fury about the big announcement, then it just kind of petered out. Did I miss something?
