Dick’s Sporting Goods customer service policies

Dick’s Sporting Goods’ privacy policy describes the personal information the company collects from shoppers — including name, contact details, payment information, ScoreCard activity, browsing data, device identifiers, and location information — and explains how that information is used to fulfill orders, run the ScoreCard program, personalize marketing, run analytics, and detect fraud. It outlines sharing with affiliates, service providers, advertising partners, and law enforcement, and describes the rights of California, Colorado, Virginia, and other U.S. state residents to access, correct, delete, or opt out of the sale or sharing of their data.

Dick’s Sporting Goods loyalty program

Dick’s Sporting Goods runs ScoreCard, a free rewards program. Members earn 1 point for every $1 spent on qualifying purchases and receive a $10 reward for every 300 points; ScoreCard Gold (an upper tier) and the co-branded DICK’S ScoreRewards credit card add accelerated earning. The company reported approximately 30 million ScoreCard members in its 2026 proxy statement.

Frequently asked questions about Dick’s Sporting Goods

Dick’s Sporting Goods listed an email address on its website until recently. A reader reports receiving the following response after emailing the company:

“Thank you for contacting Dick’s Sporting Goods. The email address customer.service@dcsg.com is not currently monitored. For further assistance, please call (866) 677-4771. Our hours of operation are 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. (Eastern time), seven days a week.”

In February 2018, Dick’s announced it would stop selling assault-style weapons.
Monday to Sunday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern time.
  1. Return time: You have 90 days to return most products. But if you bought something from Dick’s Sporting Goods Warehouse or Going, Going, Gone! locations, you have 45 days.
  2. Proof of purchase: If you have proof of purchase, like an order number, email confirmation, receipt, pack slip, or return barcode, you’ll get a refund for how you paid.
  3. No proof of purchase: If you don’t have proof of purchase, you can still return the item with a valid ID. You’ll get store credit for the lowest selling price instead of the product.
  4. Condition of the product: The item you’re returning needs to be clean and in a condition that can be sold again.
  5. Exclusions: Some items can’t be returned if they’ve been opened. This includes firearms, ammunition, certain types of bows, items that need fuel, airbeds, custom items, autographed memorabilia, certain shoes, and gift cards.
  6. Return process: You can return items to any Dick’s Sporting Goods store or mail them back. Just remember, you might have to pay for the return shipping.
Use the Track Order tool on the Dick’s Sporting Goods website. Enter the order number from your confirmation email and the billing zip code; you can also sign in to your account and open Order History. Most orders ship in 1 to 5 business days, and the Understand Order Status page explains each status label. If a tracking number stops updating for more than 7 business days, call (877) 846-9997.
Dick’s sometimes cancels online orders when an item turns out to be out of stock or a system flagged the order for review. Refunds are generally returned to the original payment method within 3 to 10 business days. If you were not refunded, contact customer service at (877) 846-9997 or through the contact-us page with your order number; the company’s Cancellation Policy page has more detail on timing and how to cancel an order yourself before it ships.
Sign in to your Dick’s Sporting Goods account and open the ScoreCard dashboard. Members earn 1 point for every $1 on qualifying purchases, and a $10 reward is issued for every 300 points; rewards typically expire 60 days after issuance. If a recent purchase is missing points, allow up to 72 hours after shipment for them to post, then contact customer service with the order number.
Yes, within 14 days of purchase on identical in-stock items from a qualifying competitor. Bring the receipt and a printed or screen-captured competitor ad to a Dick’s store, or contact customer service for online orders. Clearance, closeout, financing offers, mail-in rebates, bundled promotions, and competitor coupons are excluded.
Yes. Dick’s Sporting Goods completed its acquisition of Foot Locker, Inc. on Sept. 8, 2025. Foot Locker, Champs Sports, Kids Foot Locker, and WSS continue to operate under their existing brand names with separate websites, return policies, and customer-service contacts. For now, ScoreCard rewards and Dick’s store credit do not transfer to Foot Locker stores.
Dick’s Sporting Goods retired the customer.service@dcsg.com inbox; auto-replies from that address direct customers to call (866) 677-4771. The current way to send a written message is the contact-us form on the company’s site.
Dick’s can sometimes look up the purchase using the credit or debit card you paid with, your ScoreCard number, or the email tied to an online order. If no record is found, you can still return most items within 90 days with a valid government-issued ID; the refund is issued as store credit at the item’s lowest selling price in the prior 60 days. Some categories — including firearms, ammunition, custom items, autographed memorabilia, and gift cards — cannot be returned.
Yes, at select stores and through the Field & Stream concept, with the exceptions Dick’s announced in February 2018: the company stopped selling assault-style rifles and raised the minimum age for any firearm purchase to 21. State and federal background checks apply, and firearm sales are not available online for direct shipment to consumers.
Wait 24 to 48 hours — carriers occasionally scan packages before they finish the route. If the package still has not arrived, check with neighbors and your building management, then contact Dick’s Sporting Goods at (877) 846-9997 or through the contact-us form with your order number. Dick’s will open a carrier claim; reshipment or refund depends on the outcome of that claim. Filing a police report can help if you believe the package was stolen.
Start with phone customer service at (877) 846-9997 and ask for a supervisor. If the issue is not resolved, write to the corporate office at 345 Court St., Coraopolis, PA 15108, addressed to Lauren R. Hobart, President and CEO. You can also file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau’s Dick’s Sporting Goods profile or contact the Elliott Advocacy team. Keep copies of order numbers, receipts, and prior correspondence to support the escalation.
