How do I bypass FPL’s automated phone system and reach a live person?
When you call FPL at (888) 988-8249, press 0 or say “representative” or “agent” at each menu to be transferred to a human. Live agents are available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (all times eastern). If the AI loop won’t hand off, hang up and try again at a less busy time (early morning), or use the live chat option inside My Account, which can also escalate to a representative. Customers on Elliott’s own FPL page have repeatedly complained that the AI routing makes it hard to reach a human.
Who is the CEO of FPL in 2026?
Scott Bores is the president and chief executive officer of Florida Power & Light Company. He was named president in December 2025 and appointed CEO in May 2026, succeeding Armando Pimentel, who moved to vice chairman of parent company NextEra Energy. John W. Ketchum continues to serve as chairman of FPL and as chairman, president, and CEO of NextEra Energy. Customer service operations at FPL are led by Vice President of Customer Service Dawn Nichols.
How do I dispute a high FPL electric bill?
First, log in to My Account and review the daily Energy Dashboard for usage spikes, then call FPL customer service at (888) 988-8249 to request a billing review or a meter test. Keep a written record of who you spoke with and any case number. If you cannot resolve the dispute, file a complaint with the Florida Public Service Commission, which handles formal regulatory complaints against FPL.
How do I sign up for FPL outage text alerts?
Sign up for outage alerts inside My Account under Notifications, choosing text, email, or both. Once enrolled, you can report an outage by texting OUT to MYFPL (69375) and receive automatic status updates, including estimated restoration time. The FPL Power Tracker provides the same information on a public map.
Where do I file a complaint about FPL outside of FPL itself?
File complaints about Florida Power & Light with the Florida Public Service Commission (PSC) at (800) 342-3552 or by email at contact@psc.state.fl.us. The PSC regulates FPL’s rates, service quality, and reliability.
Does FPL have a different customer service number for Northwest Florida?
