AdventureWomen customer service policies
What is AdventureWomen's privacy policy?
AdventureWomen’s privacy policy covers how the company collects, uses, and shares personal information gathered through its website, social media, and email communications. It collects contact details, traveller information (including passport data for trip processing), survey responses, and technical data such as device type and browsing behaviour via cookies and tools like Google Analytics and Google Ads. That information is used to manage bookings, improve the website, send marketing, and comply with legal obligations. Data is shared with service providers, analytics and advertising partners, and corporate affiliates, but is not sold. Users can opt out of cookie tracking and marketing communications. The policy may be updated at any time, with the effective date shown at the top of the page.
What are AdventureWomen's terms of use?
AdventureWomen’s booking conditions set out the rules governing all reservations. Full payment is due 120 days before departure, with a credit card surcharge of 2.99%. Deposits can be transferred to another trip within 120 days of the original departure date or held as a credit for up to six months, after which they are forfeited. Cancellation fees escalate the closer to departure, and no refunds are given for unused trip features. The company reserves the right to raise prices before final payment due to airfare, currency, or fuel changes, and can alter itineraries without notice. Travellers voluntarily assume all risks associated with adventure travel. By booking, participants agree that any disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration under Massachusetts law in Boston. Photos and footage submitted by guests or taken on trip become AdventureWomen’s property and may be used for promotional purposes without compensation.

Do solo travelers pay a single supplement to have their own room?
AdventureWomen prices most trips on a shared-room basis and will pair solo guests with a same-gender roommate at no extra charge. If you prefer a private room, a single supplement applies and varies by trip — ask when booking. Because roughly 70% of guests travel solo, the company is practiced at roommate matching. If no match is available close to departure, the company’s policy on whether it upgrades you to a private room at no cost varies by trip; confirm this in writing before you pay your final balance.
What happens to my deposit if I need to cancel?
Cancellation must be submitted in writing. If you cancel before final payment is due (120 days out), you can transfer your deposit to another trip at no fee, provided you notify the company within 120 days of your original departure date. After that, the deposit can be held as a credit for up to six months; unused credits are forfeited. If you cancel after final payment, penalties escalate the closer you are to departure — check your booking agreement for the specific percentage schedule. AdventureWomen will refund or transfer deposits if it cancels due to low enrollment; if cancellation is due to circumstances beyond its control, only amounts recovered from suppliers are transferred. Buy travel insurance to cover the gap.
Can AdventureWomen raise the price of my trip after I've paid my deposit?
AdventureWomen’s booking conditions explicitly reserve the right to increase tour prices due to changes in airfares, currency fluctuations, or fuel charges up to the time of final payment. Government taxes and park fees can be passed on at any time, even after final payment. With airfares up significantly in 2026, this clause is worth reading carefully before you book. Ask the company at the time of booking whether any surcharges are anticipated for your specific trip, and factor that into your travel insurance coverage amount.
How do I know which activity level is right for me?
AdventureWomen uses four tiers — Easy Pace, Active, High Energy, and Challenging. Challenging trips require excellent physical condition, the ability to hike up to 14 miles per day on steep terrain, and elevations that can reach 19,500 feet, with a firm expectation of pre-trip training. The most common source of disappointment in reviews is a mismatch between a traveler’s expectation and the actual physical demand. Before booking, call the company at (800) 804-8686 and speak to a Destination Expert — they will walk through the specific itinerary day by day. AdventureWomen also offers optional pre-trip fitness coaching through a third-party trainer if you need structured preparation.
Does the trip price include flights, visas, and gratuities?
No on all three. AdventureWomen is explicitly not responsible for expenses incurred in preparing for the trip, including non-refundable advance-purchase airfares and visa fees. Gratuities for local guides and drivers are also typically not included. The listed trip price generally covers accommodations, in-country transport, guided activities, and most meals — but read the specific trip page carefully for what’s excluded. Budget separately for international airfare, trip insurance, visas, gratuities, and personal spending.
Does AdventureWomen require travel insurance, and how much should I budget?
AdventureWomen strongly recommends travel insurance but does not currently require it for most trips. Given that travel insurance premiums have surged nearly 40 percent in 2026, expect to pay more than in prior years. A good comprehensive policy typically runs 4 to 10 percent of your prepaid, non-refundable trip costs — so a $6,000 trip might run $240–$600 in insurance. Look for a policy that covers trip cancellation, emergency medical evacuation (critical for remote and high-altitude AdventureWomen destinations), and “cancel for any reason” if your plans are uncertain. Purchase insurance promptly after booking — most pre-existing condition waivers require purchase within 14 to 21 days of your initial deposit.
