Listen up! The best is yet to come

If you’re tuned in to your public radio fundraiser, this is about the time of the month you start getting annoyed. It’s the halfway point.

“When will this end?” you’re asking. “I just want to listen to Morning Edition.”

I hear you.

You could put an end to this site’s fundraiser right now with a $4,526 check. That’s how much I have to raise by the first week in November. All proceeds will go directly to the advocacy work you see on this site.

But our strength as consumer advocates is in numbers. We’ll get there $20, $50 and $75 at a time — and we’ll get there together.

Well, the best is yet to come.

First, let me remind you of the rightness of our cause.

Where else are you going to find a site that stands up to industry distortions, as we did just this morning?

Where else can you find real reader problems solved every week? Right here.

And where else can you find a community of like-minded consumers who want to make smarter choices about their purchases? Only here, my friends.

I’m giving away some amazing premiums to random underwriters. Today, it’s two of these amazing Delsey spinners. Yesterday, we had books, Knee Defenders and more luggage.

And tomorrow, I’m handing out a $500 gift certificate for a hotel stay.

How you qualify? Just become an underwriter. Here’s how.

Fundraising is a necessary part of the consumer advocacy I do because it gives you the opportunity to say, “I support this” in a tangible, financial way. You are a shareholder in this operation. You have a vested interest in the outcome.

When this ends, will your name be on the wall?
