** Greed is … Bad
"Greed," said Gordon Gekko, the fictitious villain in the film "Wall Street," "is good." Except, perhaps, if you're running an airline. This week, Charlie Leocha takes a hard look at the rich compensations the airline CEOs have paid themselves despite the record losses their companies have suffered. Complaining is also not good, as I discovered when I looked at five travel hassles that actually work in our favor. Also, check out this week's fixed trip and please don't forget to answer our question.

** Five Helpful Travel Hassles
Travelers gripe. It's in their nature. Once they leave their homes and hit the road, many travelers invariably morph from mild-mannered souls into malcontents. Most of the grievances are legitimate, whether it's a surprise surcharge added to a hotel bill, a sourpuss flight attendant who puts the entire plane in a bad mood or a surly car rental agent who strong-arms you into buying expensive insurance. But some aren't. > In bCentral's Power Trip.

** Looting a Sinking Ship
Airline executives are back to paying themselves millions of dollars in bonuses while they destroy shareholder equity, lay off workers and slash pensions. Shamelessly, some airline board of directors have protected their own executive pension programs while demanding in bankruptcy court that pilots and other workers give up theirs or see them slashed by half. The money airline executives are looting from their companies is really yours and mine. > In Charles Leocha's column.

** No Refund for Ruined Pants
A water leak in the room above his ruins a pair of expensive pants. Although the hotel offers a refund for the night, it balks at buying him a new pair of slacks. Does he have any recourse? And does the hotel really owe him a new pair of pants to begin with? In a hotel stays gone wrong issue. > In Fix My Trip.
