OAT runs wonderful trips, once you arrive at the meeting point. I have been on two (Peru Amazon and Vietnam, both outstanding.) But their office is just terrible. I never allow them to book my flights, for fear of a double redeye with a day hotel in between, and because of excessive cost for business class compared to the miles I would use to get it. If they won't give me a price for land only, I don't go. This means that I never book an extension, since they can (and do) cancel them after I get my flights, and won' t help with arranging the extension myself.

I never believe anything the office tells me. Sad that the office can be so bad, while the tours themselves are so outstanding.

I crossed OAT & GCT off my list, On a 2001 trip to Spain on OAT, I paid EXTRA for a single room and got a most inferior room as compared to those in the double rooms. The local guide was of no help. I did a lot of complaining when I got back--they didn't seem to care. I have talked people aweay from booking OAT ever since. They tried to give me A $100 voucher to shut me up. Instead they have lost thousands of dollars of my business
