Chris, this week I had to check two heavy bags on Delta, ATL-LAX. They went missing, along with those of 20-30 other passengers. After I waited in a long line, the Delta agent told me I could not file a claim because "you have to wait a minimum of one hour before you can file a claim for a lost bag." Well, no: there is no such law. I had already waited 45 minutes, which was too long. The agent simply did not want the hassle of arranging delivery around LA for all those bags. The good news: the bags arrived on the next flight. But it steams me when airline personnel resort to lies.
