Briggs-Riley fan as well. My carry-on 22" model has been through the ringer and back - suffering both in the overhead bin and "beneath the seats" (manhandled while being put into the belly of the plane) - and still looks as good as ever. The lifetime warranty, one I hope I never have to use, gives me assurance that I'll retire before the bag has to be replaced.

While it's on the pricier side, wouldn't you rather have a bag that will last, rather than something more "disposable" that you're gambling will last through your next trip?

Another Briggs-Reilly fan here... Five years now, with only a couple of scuffs to show for it. And unlike other luggage brands, the lifetime warranty actually means something. Even "wear and tear" items like the zipper or gradual fabric wear are covered underneath it. And certainly covering airline damage is also quite out-of-the-ordinary.

The feature I like most about my bag is the fact that the expansion gusset is actually supported. (In my bag, it is supported by velcro'd plastic panels.) Instead of just being something you use to overstuff your suitcase, it actually turns it into a bigger bag. It has a full support frame, and the front skids extend with it, so your bag doesn't tip over when expanded.

My particular bag could use more pockets, but I think they may have fixed that by now.
