My miles were earned on American Express and were transferred to Delta Skymiles. Delta Forfeited them and wants to charge one cent per mile up to 30,000 only but will not reinstate the remaining 65000 miles even if I pay their reinstatement fee of one cent/mile.
My miles were earned on AMEX charges and not on Delta.
I think this is not right . Any comments.

Were government oversight of miles enacted, could taxation of the miles be far behind?

Let me get this straight. Travelers who fraudulently or deceptively obtained miles are upset that the miles are revoked? Presumably the travelers accumulate the miles because they have financial value. The travelers shouldn't get to keep miles they didn't earn.

And, yes, if you violate a bank's rules that result in you obtaining money that doesn't belong to you, the bank can take it back.
