Great posting! I agree. We've only had great experiences renting condos and apartments for extended stay travel. In Paris, we stayed at the base of Sacre Cur in a wonderfully equipped 2 bedroom apartment for 10 days. The rental company took great care of us and I'd highly recommend them for anyone thinking of a Paris trip. www.parisvacationapartments.com Truly felt like living like a Parisian. We've rented condos in St. Thomas and Mexico. Always for much less than hotel stays would be.

Good article. Virtually everything you say about renting a home rather than stay in a hotel can also be applied to Home Exchanging - less the cost!

Additionally, by Home Exchanging you can enjoy the added advantage of staying in a home that enjoys the personal "lived in" touches of belonging to a family. Most rented accommodation still has that somewhat sterile feel that's associated with any premises that are constantly changing occupants.

My company ExchangeHomes.com has been in the Home Exchange business since 1986 and during that time our members have enjoyed many thousands of happy Home Swaps. We also run a great blog at ExchangeHomesBlog.com. It's full of tips and advice and lots of members stories. Do visit!

Best regards - Anne
