I know it wouldn't be the only factor (two new airlines on the route for one...) but seems to me that's a fairly decent clue that people aren't travelling internationally much during July-August. Sure, there will be some long weekends away, but nothing like the old days of 2 - 3 weeks. Fear of job loss has us all counting pennies. By the way, I'm talking about people in their early to late 50's, not recent hires. Sad! Due to the local economy and jobs situation here in Michigan, very few of our friends and family will be taking a true “summer vacation” in 2009.
