Iden, Erysse and Aren practice for their family Christmas photo on the sand dunes at Amelia Island, Fla.
AREN
Aren inspects the equipment as his Halloween party. The smoke machine worked (kind of) but it was still spooky.
Aren catches a little air before safely landing in his mother’s arms.
Aren rides shotgun on the Disneyworld monorail. At this height there are no swarms of lovebugs — only the occasional dragonfly.
Erysse and Aren woke up early to see the sunrise on Marco Island, Fla. It was gorgeous.
Aren and Iden go shelling on Marco Island, Fla. It was a perfect late summer day. They had the beach all to themselves.
Aren takes a break from visiting Disneyworld. Temperatures were dangerously hot today, leaving him and his siblings in a heat-induced daze. And his parents, too.
Aren and Iden visited the Senator, a 3,500-year-old Cypress tree, this afternoon. It was SO big! In this shot, they admire Lady Liberty, the Senator’s 2,000-year-old sibling.
We had a five-hour layover in Utah on our way to Sun Valley today. Good thing there was a playground at the airport, where I could unwind after a long day in the air.
The boys are waiting for the rain to stop so they can go outside and play. It’s going to be a long afternoon.
Aren and Castor share a quiet moment after chasing each other around the house. This is the first time I really noticed that they both have the same eye color. Pollux, the other cat, has green eyes.
The office chair doubles as a great race car. Aren likes to catch a little air over the bump between the living room and the hallway. Watch out for the Ming vase!
The shade of the faux Mayan ruins at Epcot are an ideal place to rest on a hot Saturday afternoon. Now if Dad would just get that camera out of my face. And what’s with the B&W, dude? That’s SO retro.
It’s Aren’s first day of kindergarten. He’s all grown up now. Well, almost. Dad had to fly to Phoenix for a meeting, but he took this snapshot on the way to the airport. He’s going to miss everyone.
The boys couldn’t contain their excitement at flying on a plane (except in this picture, in which they take a quick break from running around the terminal). Even though there was talk of weather delays, their flight to Orlando took off on time and they were able to watch the Shuttle launch from the airport [...]
