Just a comment about the whole Disneyworld in late October. Last year I took my son to the Halloween thing at Disney. Very cute, but be careful about traveling during that time, it was some holiday for the eastern eurotrash. Disney, as well as all the surrounding parks, was jammed full of sweaty, perfume wearing, rude foreigners that pretended to not speak English or understand the rules of common line courtesy.

As a resort operator in the Caribbean, I can concur with all of the dates noted, but also feel that the savvy traveller should also consider travelling at certain time of Hurricane season.

Forget "living with Category Four hurricanes and cigar-sized insects", September and October in the Caribbean can bring some of the best weather and water conditions of the year.... and for those islands that don't flat out shut down in the fall, they are quiet and offer great rates.

Also, more and more resorts offers very lenient Hurricane guarantees, plus you can put some of the money you save from those great rates into buying travel insurance... but note that there are about 40 Caribbean destinations spread over and area bigger than Boston to Kansas City to New Orleans to Miami, and the chances of your particular vacation being disrupted are very slim.

Re after Easter, I would extend that to the first 4 or 5 weeks after Easter. Rates drop and the weather is normally well nigh perfect.

Important to note that these times of year are also times when families with school age kids can't take advantage of those rates, but for families who are stuck with school vacation schedules, I recommend going as late in your school vacation as possible if you want to try to get good rates. The Caribbean was very quiet this August, I guess everyone took their families away in June or July :)

Oh, and another tip... if you absolutely must visit Disneyworld (I'm not a big fan, but my kids are), then mid to late October is the best time of year. Warm enough (but not too warm), no crowds, plus Epcot food and wine festival plus Halloween festivities all month long.
