First day of school

Aren is a first-grader at St. Luke’s Lutheran School in Oviedo (alas, Florida, not Spain). He’s not sad — just a little ticked off that vacation is over.
Tiny bubbles

Erysse and her great-grandmother Cookie chase a few bubbles together in Pomona, Calif.
Cousins

Anika, Iden and Isabella hang out at their great-grandmother’s 90th birthday party in Chino Hills, Calif.
Piggyback

Erysse gets a piggyback ride through Heaps Peak Arboretum near Lake Arrowhead, Calif. (Thanks for the photo, Opa!)
I like San Diego

Erysse hangs out at San Diego’s Mission Beach. She can’t take her eyes off the surfers. Maybe she’ll take lessons next summer …
Shock and awww

Iden hunkers down at an exhibit at the Orlando Science Center. He has a few years before being deployed. We hope.
What’s up?

It’s a long wait at The High In The Sky Seuss Trolley Train Ride at Universal Studios, and besides, Erysse isn’t tall enough yet. She’d rather play.
Turtles!

Erysse is fascinated by the little turtles at the Orlando Science Center. If only there were a way to join them …
At the memorial

Aren and Iden visited the Space Mirror Memorial at the Kennedy Space Center today. It’s guarded by alligators.
Up a creek

Aren spent this morning building a bridge over the Wolf Hollow creek. When he wasn’t being stalked by a bear.
Flowers? For me?

Erysse and her grandmother picked daisies this afternoon. They’re her mother’s favorite.
Fishing with grandma

Aren caught a perch and several sunfish with his grandmother today while they were down at the pond.
The force is with us

Kari, Aren, Erysse, Chris and Iden at Star Wars Weekend at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. They had a moment before Darth Maul took center stage on the backlot.
Blow!

Aren celebrated his sixth birthday today. Six candles! Can you get ‘em all in one breath?
Rocket

Erysse hangs out inside a rocket engine at the Kennedy Space Center. Sure is hot today!
