Here’s a question that has troubled Canada’s highest court for several months: Which supreme court judge cruised in the buff?
A recent article in the San Francisco Chronicle travel section quoted a tour operator who offered clothing-optional cruises. The company’s customers included “actors, bus drivers, Fortune 500 CEOs, soccer moms, doctors, teachers, priests and at least one Canadian Supreme Court justice,” she claimed.
Now, let me just try to put this into come context for those of us who live in the States. What if one of our U.S. Supreme Court justices — say Ruth Ginsburg or Clarence Thomas — were accused of taking a nude vacation? Imagine the fuss!
In a follow-up story to Canada’s judicial scandal, the Toronto Globe and Mail found that the supremes had indeed looked into the claim, but that the investigation had run aground.
Even the tour operator isn’t talking, citing “breach of contract” issues. Hmmm, maybe they’ve been contacted by the mysterious nude-cruising judge — and have been read the riot act.
OK, so the question that remains is: Which of the justices cruised au naturel? Who do you think did?
Have a look for yourself at the current judges and decide for yourself.
