Who am I?

January 30, 2006

Here’s what you need to know about me.

I’m a writer. I specialize in covering the travel industry.

When people ask me who I’ve worked for, I have to turn the question around, for simplicity’s sake. Who have I not written for?

Honestly, I’ve lost track of all my editorial outlets. As an independent writer and producer, I get around. I mean, really get around.

I’m a skeptic, too.

Someone went crazy with the crayons.

I don’t buy the company line. I’m wary of organized religion. I threw my TV out more than a decade ago because I was afraid it would turn my brain to mush. I hope I wasn’t too late.

Being a dissident means I’m often chased out of town by angry readers or editors — or both. I used to take it very personally, but now I realize it’s just who I am.

Yeah, I can be opinionated.

Why else would I publish a Web journal (or, if you must call it that, a blog)? My opinions are not always well-reasoned, but they’re mine, and I’m entitled to them. Just as you’re entitled to yours.

So, that’s me.

How about you? Tell me about yourself.

Nice to have you back! Lots of travelers; current, former and emerging are jaded by the company lines offered by this industry. They are also shackled by their own company limitations, financial burdens collateral with this travel-lifestyle and missing the solid foundations your site offers.
