SEO status

July 30, 2006

The search engine optimization efforts continue, and there’s more encouraging news. To recap: several weeks ago, I embarked on a campaign to boost this site’s visibility. (What good is good content when no one knows it’s there?)

Yesterday, my SEO guru, Sally Falkow, reported the following keyword results on Google:

» “Travel tips” ranks me at #155.

» “Travel news” puts me at #79.

» “Travel blog” places me at #24.

That’s pretty good.

Weekly visitors are up to 8,229 with 18,016 pageviews — compared with 7,254 visits and 17,259 a week before.

Technorati now ranks elliott at 103,029, with 222 links from 31 sites. It places ellipses at 125,613 (93 links from 26 sites) My one-week average on Alexa is 100,539.

As always, I’m grateful to SEO Sally for the Internet marketing strategy advice.

There’s a lot of work ahead, but I remain optimistic that I can reach the goal of 100,000 monthly visitors in the near future.
