It had a parasite infection called cyclospora and lots of people got the bug. Holland American is giving some compensation to the passengers that got sick. I would be hard pressed to see how anyone could have gotten norovirus on that cruise - there was crew offering Purell at the entrance and exit from every food area, plus dispensers in every elevator area. (Offering isn't exactly accurate - they practically insisted!) There was a kitchen tour as well - the place sparkled. Maybe they do it differently on the Ryndam?
