What's the book corporate America doesn't want you to read? Find out now -- or you could get scammed.

Nationally syndicated

May 8, 2006

You were waiting for the bounce, weren’t you? Here it is. As of today, I’m a nationally syndicated columnist for Tribune Media Services.

Needless to say, to be mentioned in the same breath as Rick Steves is an honor — as is being called one of the nation’s “best-known travel writers” by the top newspaper syndicate.

If you’re a regular reader of this site, you already know the column, The Travel Troubleshooter. It is basically my flagship feature — my best-read, most-watched, most-emailed column.

I’d like to thank all of you who have written to me with your travel problems in the past, for making this column a reality. I’d also like to than the many people who have written to me in the last weeks about my problems, and have effectively turned the tables on this troubleshooter.

Looks like it worked.

Christopher Elliott is the author of Scammed: How to Save Your Money and Find Better Service in a World of Schemes, Swindles, and Shady Deals. Critics have called it “eye-opening” and “inspiring” — it’ll “grab your attention and won’t let go.” Order your copy now on Amazon, Barnes & Noble or iTunes.

Dear Chris, It is good to see that someone who writes as well as you and who is willing to stand on his own two feet, will be even more available to the national travel readership. While I have found occasions when you have been on the opposed to my view, you have always had a well thought out and reasonable viewpoint. It is good to have an opinion and to look askance at the Blue Sky that passes for travel writing. I look forward to more of your opinions.

Excellent news, Chris! Couldn’t have happened at a better time, or to a more deserving writer.
