Hey Chris,

They have NO idea what they are doing. I have been through seven security lines since Aug 10. And since I am a little disorganized and used to carrying on, I have forgotten a few things.

They have confiscated a sample size nail top coat...about .1 ounce. Ignored a 3 ounce moisturizer bottle I forgot. Carefully checked a lipstick, ignored two liquid lip glosses. Ignored a salsa packet from McDonalds. Allowed a four ounce bottle of contact lens solution, without even opening the bottle to see if it really was solution. And once ran my purse through the X-ray 4 times, but never found anything. Though the woman after the fourth time said, "you're fine, but you really should have had us handcheck your film."

What I want to see discussed more is what this is doing to business in our country. Every business trip now takes at least 1 hour more for every traveller....first being at the airport a half hour earlier for checking bags, then waiting a half hour, if you are lucky, on the other end. The lost productivity has to be staggering.

Because in the packet it could be an explosive chemical but on your sandwich it is merely mustard. To make life simple on the inspectors they are banning any type of liquid/gel/condiment because they would have to taste everything to make sure it is safe. Of course, terrorists could put their evil concoction onto a baguette and detonate it with their cell phone. So is that actually a peanut butter and jelly sandwich that you are packing? Or an explosive that happens to look and smell like peanut butter and jelly? Sigh...
