I'm kind of confused here. They reversed the charge on his credit card that was made in error?
No mention about making sure they had the right roosm available at the right time, fixing the system that caused the keys to be remade over and over, addressing the problem of the wakeup call, etc etc.

I've been in the Gaylord in Orlando. It is huge, but I wasn't particularly impressed.

Furthermore, Chris - you have been strongly opposed to "resort fees" in hotels..and yet you like Gaylord? Did you know the Gaylord in Washington DC charges a $25 a day resort fee? There was a conference I probably should have gone to at the Gaylord in Washington DC this past spring. About 90% of the reason I didn't go was because it was in the Gaylord. I wanted to make a point with the conference organizers that they should not be having their conferences at this chain.
It is very difficult to get around from it....right in the middle of nowhere.

Maybe you should tell them to get rid of that resort fee before we all start talking about how great they are. They could improve their restaurant experience in Orlando too.

I am at the gaylord now for the 4th of july weekend. It has been a nightmare. I waited in a long line that took an hour and a half to check in, did not get the atrium rooms I books, was told it was a third party problem and I would have to take it up with expedia...I booked it through hotels.com. I called. My luggage 6 times only to get voice mail. When I walked down 3 hours later in inquire in person, I got attitude. They made me feel like a cheap skate for booking through a 3rd party and the clientele for the weekend is super loud. There was a party last night for hotel guests, and it was sold out (to locals as well) I took my kids to see the fireworks on the lawn and it was a maze to even find a door that we could get out off since we did not have wrist bands. Be suspicious of internet deals as this place is packed with less than desirable clientele.we r thinking of checking out early and loasing our prepaid money in the name of family harmony.

I've stayed at the Gaylord Texan in Dallas twice now, and they had absolutely fabulous customer service.

The first time, my tub didn't drain. I called the customer service line and said that it needed to be worked on and that I was leaving my room for a meeting. When I got back from the meeting later in the day, there was a typewritten form note on the desk in the room, with handwriting in blanks stating who had been in the room, what time he arrived, what he did, what time he left, and who to call if there were further problems. The tub drained perfectly the rest of my stay.

Awesome. I'm planning on visting N.C. soon. Maybe I should stay in DC and commute for half the day. With how customer service is these days in America, I might just be happier!
