I tend to agree that the fuel surcharges in this country are ridiculous.
The purpose of the fuel surcharge was to provide relief to motor carriers from having to constantly file new rates due to the rapid increases or spikes in the cost of fuel. However this has been seriously abused and though there is a national fuel average, every carrier, airline, rail company, taxi, etc has a differnt fuel surcharge and keeping track of it or even understanding the difference is near impossible. Thank you for your articles, keep them coming.
I will use this as part of my analysis that I am working on, related to our companies spend on fuel surcharges.
