Dying to cruise

March 18, 2006

Here’s another reason to think twice before taking a cruise: the Norwalk virus is back.

Yesterday, the dreaded gastrointestinal virus afflicted nearly 200 passengers on Celebrity’s Mercury. That follows another recent outbreak on Royal Caribbean’s Explorer of the Seas.

How is this different from past shipboard epidemics? I’m no expert, but just last week two people died from Norwalk-like symptoms in Trinidad.

There is no word if these were cruise passengers. Either way, I would be extra careful about personal hygiene when you’re traveling – especially if you’re planning to cruise.

Trust me on this. I know what I’m talking about.

Carnival Cruise lines ran a phoney “One Day” sale for March 22, 2006. Seems the only sale was for low seaon in September. definitely not as touted by BestFares.com..
almost ALL dates and virtually ALL ships. Just another fine print phoney sale.
