I think it's important to recognize that the properties themselves aren't solely to blame. Typically the failure of a hotel is due, in large part, to the parent company and the individual from that company charged with overseeing the General Manager at the hotel(s).

For example, GLOBIWEST is one of the worst hotel companies I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. They are absolutely horrible and many members of the corporate office of GLOBIWEST are "jucied in" family members or amazingly incompetent individuals who survive simply by developing a split personality. These people are almost prepared to spread rose petals where their managers walk; yet treat anyone beneath them with blatant contempt. GLOBIWEST - truly one of the worst in the country.

Dear Elliot.org

I want you to make it so that clicking a link solves all my problems. I know I can try to think for myself and with a little time, I can do that myself with a little brain power, but I don’t want to. I want you to make my problems go away automatically.

Thank you.

For me, a travelodge in eastern part of North Carolina when I was a kid. It was so nasty that my mom bought a Sunday paper and covered the carpet all the way into the bathroom and into the shower. Its a weird feeling showering standing on newspaper.

I want you to make it so that clicking a link opens that link in a new window. I know I can do that myself with a right click but I don't want to. I want you to make it do it automatically.

Thank you.

Clermont Hotel, in Atlanta. It even includes a "lounge" with 60-year-old strippers (and no, I'm not kidding). It's an Atlanta institution!

Worst hotel we stayed at should have been a treat for the kids but wasn't. We were transferring from Germany to Albuquerque in '95. Driving through Amarillo we saw this really neat hotel that looked just like a castle. Didn't know the knights rented the damsels by the hour. My wife pulled back the top cover to find some cigarettes and a used condom. It was time to leave before we ever unpacked.
