A new look — and a new record

April 8, 2008

109 comments. That’s a new record for this site, and it signals a turning point in the life of my blog. The inmates are now running the asylum. Might as well do a redesign.

So yes, speaking of the new look … it went live last night. My Web designer Chris Jernigan and I have been working on it for the last few months. It’s based on the Revolution news theme with some extensive modifications.

Please let me know what you think. We’ll be making some changes over the next few days to get it just right.

But back to the comments, though. I think having a spirited discussion on a Web site is good. When this many people start to sound off, the content starts to serve as more than just information. It’s a launch pad for an online discussion. In some ways, in fact, the content becomes secondary to the discussion.

So I put it to you, dear readers: What kind of stories and blog postings do you think would lead to a better debate?

Why not “What to pack for lunch on your plane trip?”. A dripping sandwich might not be the best since it would be difficult to wipe it off your pants. This leads to another item. “Shall I bring an apron on-board to use when eating?”.

How does taking food conform to security checks? I’ve had no problem in doing so. I just pack everything in an insulated carry bag in plastic containers.

What do others do to avoid the expensive and tastless food sold at the airport?
