Aren gets plasteredSo long, folks! It's my birthday today. I'm one year old - which means, technically I'm not a baby anymore. My baby blog is ending, but don't worry, I'm starting a new Web site soon to keep track of all of my adventures. I've had a lot of fun sharing my pictures with you during the first year of my life. Every baby - er, make that toddler - should be so lucky. Here's my new site!

Aren gets plasteredGetting plastered. Tomorrow is my birthday, so Mommy wanted to get an imprint of my hand in plaster - you know, something to remember me by. And in case the feds show up looking for my fingerprints. Oh, I'm just kidding. I turn one tomorrow, still a little young to be a really bad boy.

Family Update

Mommy didn't buy me a Ferrari for my birthday after all. But Grandma sent me a big-wheel. That'll do ... for now.

Daddy, who is better known to all of you as my photographer and editor - he only edits for grammar, not content - will miss helping me on my blog. Cheer up, Pops, we'll just start another one.

Max is hiding from me. All I want to do is pet him. Here kitty, kitty, kitty.

I've Got Mail!

"I know you don't know me, but my name is Aren too. I haven't seen anyone who spells their name the same way I do and I thought this was really interesting. Well I am 15 (almost 16!), a GIRL, and I live in Texas! I was in Key Largo last week for my spring break, though. Well I just thought I would let you know that I am an Aren too. Good luck, little Aren!"

Hi Aren, I am enjoying your pictures over here. They help to keep in touch with family far away. And by the way, you have a great smile. I am also talking a lot. These days I have been enjoying reading lots of books. Both in English and Mommy's language, Finnish. I like to help wash dishes and bake. I am also knitting a little. When Daddy comes home we play cars and watch videos. Look forward to seeing you again."

"It's cute that your first word is 'cat.' My (almost) two-year-old son's first word was 'cat' too! He loves the cat, and also loves cat food. Be careful with this one - we have found that Kibble gives Hugh the runs."

- Charlie Gallo
(New York)

[Note from Aren's parents: Thanks for the warning, Charlie.]
