Aunt Aimee Gets Hitched

September 21, 2002

Aimee and Shailesh before the weddingThe "before" shot. This is Aunt Aimee and my soon-to-be uncle, Shailesh, just before the ceremony. Everyone was running around trying to take pictures before the ceremony started. Then the piano player didn't show up and Mommy had to sing "Our Love is Here to Stay" A Cappella. But it sounded pretty good and everyone looked happy at the end.

The whole wedding partyAll together now! Here's a group shot of the family. From left to right, Uncle Jeff, Cousin Tomi, Aunt Aura, Cousins Cathy and Caterina (a.k.a., "The Two Cats"), Opa Elliott, Grandma Ghimire with my two newest cousins, Cousin Valerie, Uncle Dustin, Cousin Josh, Great-grandma Cookie, Uncle Peter, Aunt Dee Dee, Mommy, Daddy and I, Uncle Jonathan, Cousin Josh, Uncle Shailesh and Aunt Aimee. Whew! Hope I didn't miss anyone.

Aimee with cousin TomiAimee and Cousin Tomi. She can't help herself - she loves kids. Even in her nice wedding dress, she had to hold my cousin Tomi. Well, he is a cutie; he's related to me, and cuteness runs in the family. Tomi and I hung out at the back of the church during the ceremony because we like to talk to each other. Among the topics we covered were our preferred milk temperature and metaphysics.

Great-grandma Cookie with ArenHi, Great-grandma "Cookie." She came all the way from Southern California to see me. Or maybe it was the wedding? Well, either way, I had a great time meeting her. She likes babies a lot, too, and she made me smile. I'm going to visit her and Great-grandpa Carlos soon in California.

Uncle "Muscle Man" Jeff holding Baby A and Toddler Tomi Hold on, Uncle Jeff. This guy is strong - and brave. He can hold two babies at once. Well, technically Tomi is a toddler, which makes this an ever more daring act. Just think of all the things we could be doing to him. Hmmm, which reminds me ... I need to be burped. Do you mind?

Aren with the Elliott clan An all-Elliott shot. It's the "other" side of my family - from left to right, Daddy, Uncle Jeff, Uncle Dustin, Aunt Aimee, me, Oma and Opa Elliott. This was taken the day after the wedding at brunch. We had to leave afterwards to drive back to Chicago and catch a plane to Florida. I miss them. They were all so nice to me.
