Week 5

June 26, 2002

Grandma? Grandpa? Is that you? They keep looking at me in that funny way ... it must be them. Think everything I do is cute. Well, they're right about that. Now, if I could only teach them to do my every bidding. Give me a couple of days.

Thanks for the bath, Aunt Aimee. Hey, maybe it's a chick thing, but I like it when she gives me a bath better than Daddy. But don't tell him. (I might be stuck with him for a while.)

A picnic in Pennekamp Park. Mommy took me to the only living coral reef in the continental United States today. But she only let me into waist-deep water. Hey, when do I get my first set of fins? I wanna go explore. Look lady, if you're not letting me in the ocean, at least hand me that pacifier.

Not Miami Beach! Sure, there are lots of lithe babes here (like yours truly). The surf is up. The weather is perfect. But Mommy forgot to bring my surfboard and Daddy is busy entertaining aunt Aimee. So before I take a nap, I think I'm going to cry.

Making my mark in Key West. Made it all the way to the Southernmost City today - my first big trip - with Aunt Aimee and the parental units. Here's a shot of me at the marker buoy that all the tourists get their picture taken in front of. (Daddy has me on his shoulder and I'm pointing to the left so that he gets out of the picture.)

First day of summer. And what better reason to ... take a nap. Seriously, folks, in case you haven't gotten it yet, that's all I do. I sleep. I'm an infant. Get over it.

Hello, Aunt Aimee. My aunt came to visit from Madison today. Kept making funny faces, trying to get me to smile. Sorry, no can do. In case you haven't noticed, I'm an infant. I'm supposed to sleep all the time. What part of "all" don't you understand?
