A sick seatmate

Terry Poe Buschkamp is not sure where she became infected with the mumps. But she is sure that she unwittingly carried it with her on a recent trip from Des Moines to Washington. “I flew while I was contagious,” she said.

Pam Mandel thinks she can make changes to her round-trip tickets to Austria. But when she tries to change her return flight to the States, she’s in for a surprise: British Airways won’t let her make the switch and Expedia, her booking agent, can’t help her. Does she really have to buy a new ticket?

Taking a stand

I didn’t invent standing airline seats, but some believe that I have. Maybe the only way to clear this up is to post a picture of the seat that someone recently sent to me.

Asleep on a plane

I can’t sleep on a plane. No matter how comfortable an airline seat is supposed to be, even on a lie-flat bed in first class, I never used to be able to rest. During my early days as a correspondent for “Access Hollywood” I was a rookie traveler caught in a tough cycle any time I had to travel by air.
